Step 1: Complete a training program

Step 2: Take the state exam

Oklahoma security guards and private investigators must pass state exams to be licensed. Exams are held in person at HCP test sites. You’ll need to bring the following items:

Step 4: Submit a background check

A background check with fingerprints is required with your application. Visit the Oklahoma Department of Human Services to schedule a fingerprinting appointment.

You have up to 30 days past your expiration date to renew your license.
