Why do I need a home inspector bond in Alaska?

Obtaining a home inspector bond is a step to becoming a licensed home inspector in Alaska that ensures ethical business practices. If a contractor fails to operate according to licensing regulations or completes negligent or improper work, the bond will protect the state of Alaska and the public from financial loss.

By posting an Alaska home inspector bond, inspectors (principals) pledge to comply with all terms of AS 08.18 and pay all taxes and contributions due to the state and political subdivisions of the state, as well as pay all people who furnish labor or materials or rent or supply equipment to the inspector.
